Gone hunting, treasure hunting.....

My passion for interior is quite diverse. But one thing is for sure, it has to be personal and with a soul. White, sleek and minimalistic style doesn't suite me at all. A mix with new and old, bold and rustic, natural tones and industrial influences would describe my style just perfectly. That's why I travel in and around this tiny country to find treasures that is perfect for my personal style. But sometimes I buy to much stuff, or it wasn't exactly what I had in mind or, or .... well, you know. Sometimes the heart is bigger than my cupboards and I have to resell some of my treasures simply as that. I have therefor opened a little web shop at Etsy.com where I resell some of my stuff. I ship all over the globe (except for heavy items) and the best of all, I ship for free in Luxembourg!
So, if you fall in love with one of my items, don't hesitate to contact me:-)

Bring in the forest...... 1

After a sunny morning walk in the Bambech forest I came
home with a bunch of anemones ......... and this idea came to me.

By using scotch to make a grid on a shallow and wide bowl
the flowers will stay in their place!!!

Want your own shop?

We dedicated last weekend for a massive cleanup in the basement and attic.
I was surprised how much we store and that we seldom use (shame on us).
Many items are in perfect condition and too good to end up in a container.
And since I am a bit on the "green side" and love up cycling and recycling,
I decided to sell some items online.

After a quick search I discovered this fabulous site

Anyone can open and manage their own little shop,
how great is that!

P.S If you fancy handcraft, secondhand clothes etc,
you'll find many gems here!

A new hit?

I've had the chance to visit Café des Capucins a couple of times during the last month. The reasons for me to choose this cool place are several, and I can't point out exactly what makes it one of my favorite places to eat in Luxembourg.

Is it the modern interior with a Scandi touch?
Is it the great selection of French fusion dishes?
Is it the friendly and good looking staff?

... or is it simply the combination that makes this place a hit?

One thing is for sure,
I'll be back!

"ooh it's cold outside"

Winter has hit Luxembourg and some parts of the country is covered in white.
With low temperature ahead it seems that the snow will stay for a while.
And if you are keen on cross country skiing
(unlike me, I don't ski (I know I'm Norwegian))
they are now preparing 3 to 5 km trails in Weiswampach.

Delano's 4th anniversary

I received (among many others) a nice invitation to Delano's birthday party.
Apperantly more than 1000 guests showed up at
Melusina last night for their Nordic-themed party.
Loud music, lots of bubbles and a few Vikings set the mood.
Want to read their latest issue?

Hiking - a Sunday activity

It's been a few weeks since I posted something on this blog.
My priority has been elsewhere I admit.

However, on this beautiful, sunny but cold Sunday in January we decided to do a bit of hiking. We ended up in Larochette where you'll find starting points for several trails in the area. Some longer than others.
If you are interested check out this page.

I also brought my camera for once........

Vegetarian?

Here is a great lunch place for you if you're vegetarian or if you're not (like me) it is still worth visiting this restaurant!

Mesa Verde located in the narrow, cobbled street, rue de St.Esprit, Luxembourg.
Love it for it's laidback bohemian interior and atmosphere and
not to forget the food...... delicious!!!!

MAHO - yes please....

I was one lucky girl yesterday when I got a dinner invitation to Maho.
What a place!!!
Perfect from the entrance,  through the bar, restaurant and into the garden.
Had the angus beef with truffles which was soooo tasteful.
If I should say one negative thing it must be that the drinks came late to our table, but that we can live with....

17th of May in Luxembourg

17th of May is a very special day for Norwegians. The Norwegian constitution day is celebrated well in Norway and by Norwegians living around the world.
Here in Luxembourg we celebrate it in Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg.
It is a day were the focus is on the children with parade, songs, activities, ice creams and the list goes on.....
For the first time in Luxembourg I wore my national costume
which I am very proud of.
So if you are Norwegian or a "Norway friend" you have to join us next year.

Cruising the Moselle

During our 8 years stay in Luxembourg we haven't done the "tourist" cruise at the Moselle. So when the opportunity came up on Saturday, where we were inviteded to a gala dinner onboard, we couldn't say no could we?
Lovely weather and amazing scenery give us a perfect evening onboard the cruise that took us from Remich, Luxembourg to Sierck les Bains, France and back again.
Thanks to Round Table Luxembourg for organizing the event.

Chez Léa Linster

Had the pleasure to eat at Léa Linster on Saturday. My husband was in good mood an invited me to to this famous/fab restaurant in Luxembourg.
Last time I ate at a Michelin star restaurant was in Madrid several years ago, an experience that's hard to forget.
So who can say no to a dinner like this? Not me!
The food was excellent (as expected) and the wine the same (expensive) but the best was the the hour after dinner when we had a private moment  with Léa herself. It was a very private meeting so I can't refer what happened and what was said, but a memorable meeting it was!
For those who don't know Léa Linster I can say she is the first and only women who's won the "Bocuse d'Or" and she is from Luxembourg.
