Wrap it in!

As long as I can remember I have had huge pleasure of wrapping in gifts.
Each year I change the theme, everything from glitzy paper to pure white, this year I go for rustic, natural nostalgia. For me, reuse of materials are important, so when I came cross some old notebooks in bad condition I decided to use them as gift wrapping and ornaments. I went back to my childhood days  and brought the memories of the «snowflakes» into this years theme. I think these little ornaments give the extra touch on a neutral wrapped present, don’t you think? If you have forgotten how to make them I'll show you step by step:

fold
tie
draw
cut
fold out and paste

Nice, relaxing activity to do on a evening with a cup of tea, music and relaxation …….. or with children!

Want your own shop?

We dedicated last weekend for a massive cleanup in the basement and attic.
I was surprised how much we store and that we seldom use (shame on us).
Many items are in perfect condition and too good to end up in a container.
And since I am a bit on the "green side" and love up cycling and recycling,
I decided to sell some items online.

After a quick search I discovered this fabulous site

Anyone can open and manage their own little shop,
how great is that!

P.S If you fancy handcraft, secondhand clothes etc,
you'll find many gems here!

Malaga

I had the pleasure of spending a few days in the city of Malaga
after staying in our house at the costa the days before.
Have been visiting the city a couple of times in the past, but this time I really felt the life, atmosphere and spirit of this fantastic place.

Here are some snapshots:
1. Wine tasting at La Casa del Guardia
2. The patio at Bar Pil Pil
3. Nightclub Amargo
3 View over the Cathedral
4. Tapas and mussels at Playa de Pedregalejo
5. Tea at the arabic Teeteria El Haren
6. Gourmet food at Alea
7. Drink at the roof top bar at AC Palacio
8. Plaza de Constitucion were we rented a flat.

HOT HOT HOT

Having a great time in Spain as always.

I made these glass jars the other day.
Simple kitchen jars with a lid that my son made holes in
with a screwdriver so it could fit a straw.
Fill it up with whatever you want,
you'll avoid spilling, sand or insects in it.
And perfect to bring to the beach or to the picnic......

And to fill them I suggest,

White Sangria

Slice some fruits
(I used orange, lime, lemon and grapes)
fill a quarter up with ice cubes
top it with 50/50 white wine and Sprite/7up

Or skip the wine and replace it with sparkling water for a non alcohol drink.

Some inspiration

The wonderful weather we've had the last days
has put me in the mood for garden work :-)
The terrace is clean and the furniture is out, I even did some paintwork which I'll show you later. Tomorrow I'll go shopping for flowers and plants and I'll use these two photos from lovely Paris as my inspiration!
Yes, pink flowers will it be this year :-)

Black or White?

I'm sitting here in a windy and rainy Luxembourg and think about our Spanish home. Every time I'm a bit bored all these ideas pop up in my head.
Right now it is:
Should I paint the kitchen in white or black,
or just let it be nature colored?

Hmmmmmmm.......

Quick fix!

Daughter is coming home in a couple of weeks, so I decided to redo the spear bedroom (her bedroom?) and make it a bit more inviting.
Used tape in 3 different colors (colors I found in my new Ferm pillow) and made a "headboard".
So easy, so quick, so cheap.
And I don't have to feel guilty if I would like
to change it in a month or two :-)

Oppps, I did it again!

I have once again gone a bit wild with the spray paint.
Had a few hangers from the children's bedroom, cheap, simple once from Ikea in the colors pink, blue and orange. Now I've painted them in bronze color and I think they look very glam!

Project

I've been working on a project for the new expat magazine
in Luxembourg called CLEW. It's about interior tendencies for 2013
and you will find my work here.

Spray it!

Perhaps it was the color of the flowers that inspired me?

Earlier I bought a can with neon pink spray paint and went a bit crazy with it. Swish, swish and the forks are as new, swish swish and our plain, white soap dispenser had a new coat on.
So fun to try out new things.

Latest buy is a can with copper color, now I just need to figure out what to do with it. But I do have a plan, yes indeed .......

GTD!

Did you know that there are GTD-coaches?
Coaches that are specialized in to Get Things Done?
I saw it first time on Norwegian tele this morning. The strange thing is that yesterday my head was so messed up with to many ideas, thoughts and things that I want to do, but don't no where to begin.
So I draw a mind map over my goals in 2013 to make it easier to see things clearer.  And with a little help from the TV coach today I feel loaded with energy and will start at once with my projects,
first out is to clear my inbox from thousand or so mails......

Salmon for charity!

Not often I'm up before 7 on a Saturday morning but that happened today.
I (and a few other ladies) have been making some hundreds
of salmon sandwiches for the International Bazar
which finds place at Luxexpo, Kirchberg, this weekend.
So if you are in Luxembourg these days, pop by
and have a taste of Norway at the Scandinavian stand!
