Fall feeling

Had a nice trip to the flea market in Belgium this weekend with my daughter.

Found a few things, among them the vase and the antler. Have an idea with the antler, wait and see.

 Right now: tea, TV and candles, fall is here!

..... and 9 weeks later.....

.....I AM BACK HOME!!!!

Back home to a autumn feeling Luxembourg.

Cold misty mornings, warm afternoons and the colors have changed.

I appreciate very much the predictable Spanish weather, don't get me wrong, but I kinda like fall as well.......

I'll show you bits'n pieces of my summer stay in Spain later on.

Girls lunch

I am so blessed to have such nice friends and to have

 the opportunity to have them over for lunch on an ordinary weekday.

This time I set the table in neutral colours and yet again I used newer things combined with old treasures found at markets around here and there.

Doesn't take much effort to set a table like this and the 

menu was also very easy.

Somehow I prefer to have dinner guests on a weekday instead at the weekend. 

Week day dinner is less formal then a Saturday night dinner, the guests doesn't tend to stay to early morning and I have the opportunity to set the table a bit more glamourous than it usually is.

On our Tuesday dinner I found my very old plates that I haven't used for a decade and paired it with the rough denim fabric that I bought very cheap at Ikea. Also used the old crystal glasses from great grandmother, love the contrast of sweet and not so sweet.

Thanks to our guests for a very nice evening.

I was sitting in the sun in my garden, temp well above 20 and read 

a Norwegian Christmas magazine.

Well, autumn in Lux can be pleasant, but nowadays it is more like a proper autumn with heavy wind, rain and dancing leaves. 

Hope it wont last for long,

Love to go "treasure hunt" in the forest and use what I find in decorations.

Winterwonderland?

Not very much says winter, December or Christmas where I live these days.

Sunshine, bird song and mild temperatures met us on our stroll in the forest today. But we ended up finding something that will be decorated for  Christmas, and I will show it to you later.....

Waterloo

My big plan to have a nice, christmassy day in Brussels yesterday went down the drain. The awful rainy weather did not fit in, but since we needed to go to Brussels for our son's confirmation education, we stopped by the impressive Butte du Lion at the battlefield of Waterloo.

On a sunny day I would like to climb up the stairs, but yesterday it was OK to just sit in the car :-)

Luxembourg 11.11.11 at 11.11

Brrrrrr....

Had a lovely breakfast in town yesterday with a dear friend and her adorable little 6 months old son. After leaving the café we went for a stroll in the streets, and that was a cold experience! Low temperatures and fog is not what I prefer.

So I went home and replaced my summer coats with winter coats, and emptied the basket for summer pillows and filled it with all my warming scarfs.

So now I am a bit more prepared for winter (but just a bit...)

Tea time

The last days have included a lot of atshooo and tea.

After waiting at a freezing cold Gare de l'Est in Paris for more than 3 hours because of an accident on the railway, I ended up with a cold.

But lucky me, I've got these adorable packages with tea from LADUREE from a very good friend, so that helped me coming through the days.

Autumn in Paris

Paris is fantastic all year around. Had an absolutely fab day yesterday in this wonderful city. The sun was shining the most of the day and the little shower that came just gave us an opportunity to sit down with a glass of wine :-)

Autumn at the table

Should have posted this earlier but it is still not to late!

The last two weekends I've been at the applefarm in Steinsel, Luxembourg, to pick my own apples and pears, plus of course buying their deli apple juice.

If you have no plans for the upcoming weekend you should go, otherwise you must wait to next year's autumn :-)

I, BTW, have other plans for the weekend.......
