Where did the summer go?

We only had the chance to stay 10 days at our Norwegian summerhouse this year. A short stay with a lot of nice memories that seems to fade ....

Miss you Norway, but looking forward to next years visit!

My work went over the pond...

We all like our work to be appreciated, right?

Having a great time in Spain as always.

I made these glass jars the other day.

Simple kitchen jars with a lid that my son made holes in

with a screwdriver so it could fit a straw.

Fill it up with whatever you want,

you'll avoid spilling, sand or insects in it.

And perfect to bring to the beach or to the picnic......

And to fill them I suggest,

White Sangria

Slice some fruits
(I used orange, lime, lemon and grapes)
fill a quarter up with ice cubes
top it with 50/50 white wine and Sprite/7up

Or skip the wine and replace it with sparkling water for a non alcohol drink.

Black or White?

I'm sitting here in a windy and rainy Luxembourg and think about our Spanish home. Every time I'm a bit bored all these ideas pop up in my head. 

Right now it is:

Should I paint the kitchen in white or black,

or just let it be nature colored?

El campo

Sometimes we need to something else than relax by the pool, be by the sea or do shopping. The other day we explored our nearby, rural area.

Found old fincas and a wonderful view over the ocean and Gibraltar.

From white to black

This old and rusty table used to be in the dining area in our house in Spain.

I had a different idea for it.

Got my son to spraypaint it in black.

 Now it has a new life at our terrace paired with modern chairs from Ikea.

I will show two of my dream items that I just installed in our house in Spain.

The big moroccan pendant which I bought in Luxembourg is finally where it belongs (the painting is btw

 from a Danish artist that used to live in Luxembourg)

And then you have the asian parasol which I have search the internet and shops for ages. Found it at tiny shop in the old town in Marbella on Tuesday!

Before and after

Good morning!

Thought I should show you a picture of how our staircase looks like at this moment. Unfortunately I was a bit lacy between the tasks, so no many pictures were taking because I worked more on my tan.

 But as you can see we removed the old freezer and blocked the hole under the stairs with two white doors. Great place for storage. The curved "handle" is now straight and the gap over the fridge is blocked, which you can't see on the after picture.

Relaxing....

..... is important after a hard working day.

 Luckily the stuff we sent from Lux arrived more or less just before midnight Saturday. We hadn't the time to pack up everything, thats why I show you some details. Some picture taken Saturday night and some Sunday morning just before our return to Lux.

Hola!

We are back in Lux after 10 days of hard work in Spain. Sorry for bad update on my blog but simply hadn't any time to blog :-(

Unfortunately we were behind schedule the first two days because the builders were not done with their work. And sadly Ikea delivered the furniture too late, yes its a bit mañana, mañana in Spain...... but they came.

Here you have the evidence, son and me, struggling with "Billy".

From orange to white

Hola!

We are slowly getting there.

We have now painted the house white, gone is the orange

 and apricot from the 80's. 

Yesterday evening Ikea came with some furniture so you can 

guess what we will do today.......

Moving south

Late Saturday evening a moving truck came from Norway via Luxembourg heading south to Spain. We managed to fill it up with golf bags, coffee machine, TV,  a table, paintings, lamps plus hundreds of other small items. 

Hopefully our holiday house will be ready to move into in a couple of weeks.

I am so excited.

(the moving company seemed to be a bit more professional than the one on the picture, though :-))

Update "la casa"

Hi, just to give you an impression what has been done in our Spanish house.

In the staircase we had a big colossus that we called "the chimney". We have (or the builders) removed that and now we will have much more open staircase and more light and air. The bathrooms are now getting tiled, the biggest job here was to replace the pipes and the electricity. We will replace the bathtub with a big shower and place to a washing machine.
