Happy Easter!

It is so easy to transform cheap plastic eggs to something more original and pretty. Check out my DIY page to see how.....

Wrap it in!

As long as I can remember I have had huge pleasure of wrapping in gifts.
Each year I change the theme, everything from glitzy paper to pure white, this year I go for rustic, natural nostalgia. For me, reuse of materials are important, so when I came cross some old notebooks in bad condition I decided to use them as gift wrapping and ornaments. I went back to my childhood days  and brought the memories of the «snowflakes» into this years theme. I think these little ornaments give the extra touch on a neutral wrapped present, don’t you think? If you have forgotten how to make them I'll show you step by step:

fold
tie
draw
cut
fold out and paste

Nice, relaxing activity to do on a evening with a cup of tea, music and relaxation …….. or with children!

Gone hunting, treasure hunting.....

My passion for interior is quite diverse. But one thing is for sure, it has to be personal and with a soul. White, sleek and minimalistic style doesn't suite me at all. A mix with new and old, bold and rustic, natural tones and industrial influences would describe my style just perfectly. That's why I travel in and around this tiny country to find treasures that is perfect for my personal style. But sometimes I buy to much stuff, or it wasn't exactly what I had in mind or, or .... well, you know. Sometimes the heart is bigger than my cupboards and I have to resell some of my treasures simply as that. I have therefor opened a little web shop at Etsy.com where I resell some of my stuff. I ship all over the globe (except for heavy items) and the best of all, I ship for free in Luxembourg!
So, if you fall in love with one of my items, don't hesitate to contact me:-)

Bring in the forest..... 2

No secret that I'm fond of forest and long walks.
On a walk in Waldhaff forest I came across a beautiful tree full of pink flowers.
Something tells me that this tree should rather be found in a garden, and I didn't feel at all cruel by brining back a branch and place it in my living room.

We ♥︎ waffles

Sometimes the smallest things can give the biggest joy.
As for example the smile of my boy when he smells the scents of
newly made "Norwegian" waffles spread around the house on a Sunday.
After 10 years in Luxembourg the Norwegian waffle iron we brought with us is still regularly in use.

If you wonder about the difference of these
waffles compared to others, I'll give you the recipe:

2 eggs
2 ts of sugar
4 dl of kefir (or milk)
4 dl of flour
1/4 ts natron

easy as that!

HOT HOT HOT

Having a great time in Spain as always.

I made these glass jars the other day.
Simple kitchen jars with a lid that my son made holes in
with a screwdriver so it could fit a straw.
Fill it up with whatever you want,
you'll avoid spilling, sand or insects in it.
And perfect to bring to the beach or to the picnic......

And to fill them I suggest,

White Sangria

Slice some fruits
(I used orange, lime, lemon and grapes)
fill a quarter up with ice cubes
top it with 50/50 white wine and Sprite/7up

Or skip the wine and replace it with sparkling water for a non alcohol drink.

Hang on!

On my last trip to London I bought 3 art photos of a street photographer at Spitafields Market. Finding frames to fit them was harder than I thought. Well, I took a trip to Ikea, didn't find what I was looking for, so I came up with this idea: clips from a local store! Sometimes simple is better.....

Fall feeling

Had a nice trip to the flea market in Belgium this weekend with my daughter.
Found a few things, among them the vase and the antler. Have an idea with the antler, wait and see.
Right now: tea, TV and candles, fall is here!

P-P-P

 Pink - Party - Pompons
Had the pleasure to host a surprise party for my really good friend last Friday.
10 girls (ladies) were gathered with plenty of food and drinks and we had a great time. Our friend didn't have any clue so it was the perfect surprise party.
Sadly my friend has decided to move back to Norway but luckily for her she found LOVE!!!!!

You can clearly see on this picture how bright our living room
 is now after the repainting.
And in the corner you see "grannies" old mirror which now is spray painted white. I'll give you a closer look later.....
And the pompons I made myself, so easy though I haven't done them in 20 years or so. Martha Stewart has great explanations on her website.

Early morning in bed

The morning 1st of May. In bed with my morning coffee and Mac, and that on a Wednesday. What a good feeling!
Son is still asleep and husband decided to drive to Basel yesterday.
So here I am all by myself..... and I find the time to do some blogging.

The last days have been quite busy and the first to suffer from that is my blog unfortunately. I am not complaining though since I put myself in this position.
I am the one who invites friends over for dinner
 both Friday and Saturday (#1).
I am the one who says to my husband that we need a lunch in town
 while doing errands (# 2)
I am the one who says that we shall repaint the living room on Sunday (# 3)
And I am the one who decided to spray paint "granny's" old mirror (#4)

What a pleasant feeling when you finally did what you've
been thinking about for such a long time.........

Have a nice day off!

Quick fix!

Daughter is coming home in a couple of weeks, so I decided to redo the spear bedroom (her bedroom?) and make it a bit more inviting.
Used tape in 3 different colors (colors I found in my new Ferm pillow) and made a "headboard".
So easy, so quick, so cheap.
And I don't have to feel guilty if I would like
to change it in a month or two :-)

Outside...

I don't know if it's my Scandinavian roots or what, but I just love to be outside!
During the last days the weather has changed from cold winter to sunny spring. And with the temp rising I can't wait to move outside with my magazines, sunglasses and a cup with something hot!

These pictures are from my terrace,
and for a post I did for CLEW magazine.

The big cleaning day....

I know I shouldn't brag about it, but today I've been in the mood for cleaning!
After burning hundreds of candles during the winter months the windows really needed a good cleaning. And then I thought that my wooden furniture needed to be oiled and after the furniture I oiled the stairs and..... yea, the list goes on. So mum, you should be proud of me today ☺

Since it's still winter and a bit cold outside I made a still life with a bit of "chalet" feeling. Will keep it a few weeks before I welcome Spring into my living room.

Spray it!

Perhaps it was the color of the flowers that inspired me?

Earlier I bought a can with neon pink spray paint and went a bit crazy with it. Swish, swish and the forks are as new, swish swish and our plain, white soap dispenser had a new coat on.
So fun to try out new things.

Latest buy is a can with copper color, now I just need to figure out what to do with it. But I do have a plan, yes indeed .......
